Yes - they are unaffected. IE services were unaffected during the last BE strike.

IR guy on RTE radio earlier said that there will be 'line improvement works' going on near Heuston but that they would keep some tracks always in use and be able to get trains in and out. The website says there will be a revised schedule but that would be the case anyway on a bank holiday w/e so check the timetable.

He also said that because of capacity issues (he mentioned a 'single line') that there would be bus transfers between Heuston and Athy for (some of ?) the Waterford service.

The ballast cleaning works are ongoing on the Dublin/Cork line - this means single track working where the work is being carried out.

As a result trains to/from Cork will operate every two hours with connections at Limerick Junction for Limerick and at Mallow for Tralee. Galway trains will also be bi-hourly with passengers for the Mayo line changing at Athlone.

Due to the line capacity constraints on the Cork line, Waterford services will be bus transfers between Heuston and Athy.

The new Ashbourne Connect service is still running tomorrow from Ashbourne to Dublin. Very limited timetable.

Got an 8:45 DART this morning and it was only a 1/3 full.

Alto of people must have taken Friday off for the long weekend.
