Before people start asking:
This is not the beta client, there is no public download link, I have acquired this through private means and a bit of prior knowledge of how their patcher works and a few good friends.
This is the dev client, beta clients are just branches of the dev client, meaning that they are preparing for the BWE already.
I thought I would share the new patcher look. I will probably not be leaking much of anything else, since BWE is next week, and there is no point. I just thought the patcher looked cool and I should share. Don't click the link if you don't like spoilers.

I.. didn't get one. I feel kinda left out now. Arenanet don't send me newsletters, answer my calls.. they didn't even thank me for that cake I made them shaped like Guild Wars..

Sure you're better off waiting for the e-mail link at any rate. Even with the best of intentions MikeyJoyce, there's always a chance that's just a glitch in the old client or anything. Better off waiting for the legit e-mail, I'm sure Anet will give people enough time to download.

The old client now deletes all the old files and redownloads everything. There's a new patcher and welcome message 'to the first beta weekend event'. There's no reason why it won't work, it's the exact same process as deleting the closed beta files and downloading the new ones later in the week.

I just finished downloading it, it is just over 13 GB.
The patcher has a few bugs, it does not display the correct download speed, if you stop and start it it "forgets" that you have already downloaded part of it (although it does not overwrite it just continues on from where it stoped), and the % downloaded seems to refer to the number of files and not the actual amount of data.

When downloading it the speed at the start was quite fast it was maxing out my 50mbit line but then once it got to about 6GB it slowed considerably. It was downloading from servers in Switzerland maybe if I had changed DNS (using google's) servers it would have found one closer to Ireland.

According to the comments, the client is the same as CBT3.

This is a legit link for it. Just put the .exe in a folder before you start downloading the game.

Just bear in mind if you're ordering from Zavvi they seem to take a while to dispatch things. The GW CE was listed as usually dispatched withing 2-3 days. I ordered mine on Friday 13th, it wasn't dispatched till the following Friday. Fingers crossed I get it at some point this week so I can play in the beta.

They are the same. I preloaded yesterday using the client. All prepped and ready to go!
