Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    He's an engineering director with Google

    Yes, a few of us have been asked to "test" one or two of the phones in the past when he's back on holidays. :)

    Some of you may remember last year when an article was online last August/September of a journalist who had got to try out Google Glass in a pub the previous night. That was my mate and a few of us having pints in the Stag's Head when she started chatting to us!

    He was one of the best on stage yesterday. Really great presenting compared to some of the other guys. I couldn't really hear the Irish accent much though, but he was very well spoken throughout. Even the brilliant one liner after the protesters started, he deserves a raise for that alone :D

    I actually wasn't sure if he was irish or not. It was a mix of Irish and American. There was another Irish person too, can't remember what they were presenting but they had a wider mix as well.

    Really tempted to buy an Android Wear watch, both of them are very reasonably priced and my phone/tablet are both supported.

    For anyone interested you can install the L preview from here:

    http://developer.android.com/preview/setup-sdk.html#top

    Only available on the Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 5 though.

    I'm going to try install it and will update.

    Mate has it on his nexus 5, says everything went well install wise but had to use a different radio modem, also the pebble says it doesn't have net access.

    Possibly he used a different method to others all the same.

    He waited til he got home to sort the pebble out, it started to work over wifi then had no trouble working ove 3/4g.

    If so which one did ye get?

    Google is a nice company *cough* so they share their apps.

    Just search Google Cardboard and the app should pop up.

    Pretty sure it's not on iOS?? I know certain VR apps will work with it though, I'm buying it because it's so cheap and I love gadgets. I'll find a way for it to work :D

    My bad, apparently Google don't share their VR apps! :pac:

    Third part apps apparently work with it though.
