I used to be a stutterer and when I finally stopped it I proceeded to speak fast instead. Has this happened to anyone else and is there anyone with suggestions for how I can stop speaking faster.

All you have to do is to make some conscious efforts in slowing down your speech.

You can use an internal cadence, speaking at a speed you internally regulate or, to start with, tap you thumb against your leg or other discreet motion to give yourself a steady rhythm to talk along to, helps to slow your speech down to a comfortable rate.
