Im nt sure to be honest ,dont know much bout both teams.

Seamus harnedy and deane means i know more bout Glenbower.

Mtichestown being a football club i would say be favs on monday.

Mitchelstown would be favourites alright..knocking on the door at this grade. for a few years. got well beaten by a strong kanturk team in the final two years back i think.

Big surprise st colums winning west cork and having advanced all the way now they will be hard stopped at this stage.

Was the Glenbower result a surprise? I thought hurling was the main game in Imokilly

Glenobwer have been in the county stages for the past few years. Beloggoly had never won the division before IIRC

Glenbower will give Mitchelstown plenty of it. After Mitchelstown's stunt in getting their qtr final played 4 days after their opponents Kilmichael had won their first mid cork in 26 years i hope Glenbower come out on in top in this one

a nonsense alright considering there was no rush. surely though a county board issue as opposed to mitchelstown?

It has surely backfired against them seeing as though they haven't played a championship game now for well over a month

Fixture was made initially by the board but they would be non-plused about it going back a week or so at that point. Mitchelstown point blank refused to accommodate Kilmichael's request to move the date

Walsh would consider dual Cork role
    Friday, October 25, 2013
Aidan Walsh has dropped a major hint that he may be prepared to line out for both Cork’s senior footballers and hurlers next year.
    Aidan Walsh

The Kanturk man has already spoken to new football manager Brian Cuthbert, who is believed to be open to the idea of sharing his midfielder.

“I suppose he can kind of understand why I would like to try it if I was able for it,” said Walsh. “Yerra, I suppose I’ve to wait and see if Jimmy [Barry-Murphy] gives me a ring first to see if he wants me. I can’t be jumping to conclusions.”

Walsh described as “utter lies” the speculation he and Ciarán Sheehan were in training with the hurlers in the build-up to the replay. “There were people coming up to saying they were putting money on me to get first goal in the final. I was saying, ‘work away’. No.”

The 23-year-old said he’d likely try his hand at making both senior teams for no more than a season or two.

“I suppose it was winning the All-Ireland [U21] in ’09 that made me go football-wise but hurling, I suppose, if I was to try and do the dual I’d try to do it for a year or two and see how it goes. I suppose the way it’s gone, it’s nearly impossible. I’ll see, I have a few more years to think about it.”

thought he came across well, often not a great interviewee but looked up for a bit of craic, even at his own expense.

He was a good laugh now ...the part where he said cork women are lashers:-o in terms of being chatted up .

He was never the best public speaker,as he has so much passion , he talks so fast, you could c he found it hard to sit still, compare him to Gatland interview he wasnt as composed.

But it shouldnt take away from him. That reclip of 2005 was magic. The two most famous speeches related to cork for me is sean og in irish and mark landers 99 when he said welcome back to leeside liam mccarthy we missed you a lot.

I would not agree with everything sean og said in recent times, but have massive respect for what he gave to cork hurling and football.

I don't think he would be a good manager .I don't think he has the ,communication wise, the skill set to be a success.

I wouldn't be suprised if down the line he moved to australia.

I think Setanta is getting married over their in a few weeks.Best of luck to him.

Not announced yet. Doubt they'll be hugely different then the ones from the summer.

Their currently recruiting for a number of poisitions.I wouldn't say their will be much change.

Id hope and imagine landers stays involved with the u17.A great incentive for young players, they now at last have as good a chance as every other county to win the all ireland,as they have a super set up management wise.

Last year cork were beaten before they even started.

Speaking or rebel og hurling i think they missed a trick with having the u14 game with newtown and na piarsaigh tommorrow in mallow, should have had it as a curtain raiser to the senior game between the two teams in mallow today.

Wouldn't take that as a definite that he will be their next year.

The fact theirs two management selectection commitee with a vacany still to filled in relation to a selector ,i wouldnt take it as gospel.

Its pointless you ask me ,to list them when their still finalising them .Its a good idea but the timing is all wrong.

It could be looked at if cunnigham was staying with cork ,why wasnt a confirmation made he was staying.

Castelmatyr and kilbrin junior semifinal today.

Sounds a good week, intense by the looks of it,but diverse with different skillsets being done.

This will improve the players. At last it is inline with other counties.

Any good was the game?who stood out?

I was going to go to kanturk to c this but the weather the way it was thought hurling even in those conditions be better to watch,so made the trip to mallow,Newtown and Na piarsaigh in q final of the league.

Said it be good to have a look at the intercounty prospects both sides,in particular ian mcdonnell.

You can tell a lot about players in these conditions.Got there like a few other only to find the game was postponed.Their was nothing on the radio or website bout it,or maybee their was and i didnt c it or hear it.

Few lads from the city had thought it was on also.

Im suprised it was called of,the ptich was in fine order,no flooding at all ,and looked playable.I saw worse ptiches .Monday at Ul their was a league game in ul , a freshers game ,and the ptich had a lot of water bout the game went ahead and ptich was fine.

Maybe they didnt want the ptich to be cut up too much, which is fair enough.

wasn't there, just putting up the result. Glad now our lads have come through the Rules games fit and healthy.

    Well said.

I didnt watch it but heard we won handy.Maybee that will make aussies loose interest, and it will be scrapped for next year.Hopefully it will be.

It looked like Ireland were the pros athletes and Aussies the amateurs. I think GAA players are as fit now as Aussie players. The amount of additional work done by gaa players in the last 5 years has def merged the gap fitness wise.

Fr o neills won the minor league 2 today, they beat valley rovers handy.

A good way to bounce back after loosing the u16 county in a replay to the Rockies.Very successful at u14,,15 and 16 last few years, they are building a strong future.

Declan Dalton ,and Billy Dunne played today.

Declan Dalton and Billy Dunne on their day are a match for anyone,in the drawn match against the Rockies would have got 1-13 out of 1-16 fr o neills would have scored. They will be around the cork minor panel next year .

AIB Munster Club IHC Quarter-Final Ardmore (Waterford) 1-12 Youghal (Cork) 4-13 (FT)

Youghal had an extra man for most of the game, scored something like 2-6 to nil in last 15

Great result for cork,be interesting to hear how desmond and cooper get on.

Play clare champs next ,youd fancy them to win it,considering the clare lads play county final the day before.

A bit of a joke. That game shouldnt go ahead at all.Bit much ladtr play four days after a game ,but a day after ,a big ask.I feel for the clare lads.

have zero sympathy for counties who postpone their championships while they are still playing intercounty.
