The MNSCI (Midlands) are pleased to announce a Bullseye 360 and Rifle competition for pistol and rifle shooters of all types on Saturday 8th November 2014. This includes any sights, action, caliber, etc. As a Bullseye and Match comp there is no rests or supports of any type. This includes slings, rests, bags, bipods, sticks, etc. Nothing.

The shoots will be broken up into a four different disciplines. They are:
    • Centrefire Pistol Bullseye
    • Rimfire Pistol Bullseye
    • Rifle, Short Course
    • Rifle Long Course

You may enter as many as you like, as often as you like. This is an open competition meaning all are welcome. There are no restrictions on the caliber or type of gun you use. A ranking system is being introduced that will take effect when enough shoots have been completed to properly place each competitor in their appropriate class. These are:
    • A - Master
    • B - Expert
    • C - Marksman
    • D - Standard

Some comments about the times for each detail were risen, and while they may yet change the times will remain the same for this comp as the last one. This is to allow new shooters every oppotunity. Should a detail finish well before the time has elapsed an early ceasefire will be called so as not to delay people.

Also the short & long rifle comps will be held on the Creedmoor range, weather permitting. If the weather turns it will be run on the sheltered range.

Details of the shoots are as follows:

I presume so. I have not been told of any changes to the format, targets, etc.

The targets are large paper targets, approximately 63cm x 44cm, with a replaceable bull’s-eye centre insert, approximately 22cm x 22cm, all with scoring rings / areas approximately 2cm apart. The highest scoring area, the Bullseye, approximately 4cm in diameter, will score “10 points” with all other rings radiating out to “1 point”.

Are you sure that this size targets are not for something other than Bullseye 360

The scoring was I think on a par with last time with a good turn out. The 100 yard shoot was from the sheltered range as the windmill was waterlogged personally I think it should be there all the time as its much handier than everyone driving down the range.

The same lad got 1st in long and short course centre fire with a Tikka ( I think)

Again the same lad got 2nd in both long and short with a Marlin Lever Action

I managed to come 3rd place in long and short course in the centre fire its a good job Clive wasn't there or it would probably have been 4th.

A good day for it and the promise of more before Christmas

And a big thank you to Christy, Paul and all at the range who run and organised the shoots

Didn't really pay much attention to the rimfire

Great day out for the competiton yesterday. A great opportunity to use the rimfires out at 100 meters. More free hand practice needed I think.

You think. Me too i was putting one on top of the other with the bipod. Different story freehand

I couldn't do the rim fire as I'm waiting on a sub for a .22

Meant to ask. There is a lot of talk about the rifle end of things. How are the pistols getting on? Much interest? Scores?, etc.

Also I'm expecting a date for the next comp within the next few days. As soon as i get it i'll post it here in the form of a new competition notice/thread.

Nine lads shot .22 pistol and twenty shot centrefire pistol. Top score on c/f was an eye watering 303 out of 360. Great to see pistol taking off again.

Yeah, that's why i was asking.

Am thinking of getting my pistol back again. It's still with the dealer i traded it into, and under the "Grandfather" rule i can license it again.

    Food for thought, for sure.
