Asking for receipt / warranty

Hi,

Got a HTC tablet listed on Adverts.ie and a person has just asked does it have a receipt and warranty. I bought it in late February from Expansys via Amazon UK Marketplace so I just have the regular email order confirmation from Amazon, a shipping notification email from Expansys (via Amazon again) and then when it arrived there was a despatch note in the parcel. Would the despatch note count as a receipt?

And as for warranty I would assume it is 12 months from when I bought it? If I sold the tablet, does the new person have to contact me to arrange any potential repairs later down the line or would they deal with HTC direct?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm new to all this selling business!

I'm not sure about the dispatch note and I'm open to correction on this but if you forward it along with a copy of the notifications from Amazon and Expansys, that should cover it.

This is correct. The dispatch note means nothing in this case, but by forwarding the Amazon/Expansys details it's enough in the event of any warranty claim.

Just to add most warrantys only cover the original purchaser and as they are buying off a private individual there are no statutory rights like you would have when buying in a shop or website.

What the buyer really needs is proof of the date the item was bought by you to show the amount of warrenty remaining of the manufacturer asks.
