    Hi Folks,

Looking for a figure on a 1995 Audi 80 Avant 1.9 TDi - I intend selling this later in the new year with a 2yr NCT on it (hopefully).
    Its got:
Big Miles - 230k of them
    TB & W/P done 20k miles ago
New wishbone suspension bushes + new CV's
10 spoke audi alloys + almost new tyres
    All electrics
Body undented, but a few minor paint scratches
Everything works, and a good drive.

What should I ask as an asking price??

Hi Colm - Yeah, thats sort of the figure I was thinking about as well. Thanks, and Happy New Year, btw.:)

Yeah around the €1500 mark. Ask for a little bit more so you can go down a bit when the buyers haggle.

Give me a shout when your selling it, a mate might be interested.

Yeah, I think Colm is on the ball there. Might sound like a lot of money, but there are buyers out there. Possibly from eastern europe

I'd agree. Accept no less than 11/1200 if it passes easily.

Well, you never know. There are fools out there :D

Personally, I wouldn't even give you 3000 tbh. Sorry to bear more bad news :(

Is there any way out there to get a fair and accurate valuation for cars?

I've heard the Revenue site valuations (for VRT) are inflated to keep the coffers full.

I've always found them to be right or slightly under if anything- it may as well be since it's a dispicible tax.

Checking on carzone is the only way to go. There can be huge differences.

I'd say €4.5 - €5.5 for the Pug if it's in great condition and you have any service history.

I think your price may be a little high cantdecide, the shine has gone off them in a major way in the last 18 months. I think if BlueDragon got over 3500 for it he'd be doing well. it IS about to be an 8 year old French car.

Aww that kinda sucks is that the price for selling it to a dealership or privatly selling it?
i was gonna get it serviced b4 i sell it should i even bother?

that's for a private sale. don't get serviced as you won't get what you paid back. make sure tyres/brakes/lights are ok though
