Not complaining, just grateful when it does run. The other one mentioned on here, radarvirtuel, is good but doesn't give much on Irish traffic. Same for ATCBox a NL one, very detailed but mostly central Europe.

Agreed Barry. This is a great service & much appreciated however I'd like to know if/when it will be back.

Radarvirtuel is good but I have found that it is not as "real time" as the Google service. Data seems to be delayed by a minute or two.

Yep. Although, for some reason, it's not displaying flight levels or reg. info for the aircraft.

EDIT: All info. is now being displayed :)

Not sure if this if off topic, but has anybody noticed particularly low volume on the EIDW feed from www.liveatc.net ?

My reply to an earlier message -

"Not complaining, just grateful when it does run. The other one mentioned on here, radarvirtuel, is good but doesn't give much on Irish traffic. Same for ATCBox a NL one, very detailed but mostly central Europe."

I've done a (non-scientific) survey and the Ireland/Google service is best (for Ireland). The others, especially radarvirtuel, are erratic, if you try to follow an aircraft it suddenly disappears  I assume it isn't real ;)

I don't know what you mean by "Northern" - Scandinavia? Of an average of 600+ aircraft on the screen at a time, Scandinavia has 10-15; not sure how 'bad' that is compared to reality. If you compare the google data against radarvirtuel for ireland it is about 25% "short" on radarvirtuel for any given time.

There appears to be a variable usage of the 'official' data by aircraft, have you ever tried to follow a military flight? even a transport one??

    Bye, Barry

Thanks for that, I wonder if the Dundalk lads can link in to them, would enhance their coverage.

I'm not sure they(Russian Air Forces) use the transponders, I know from my experience when I was in service in Polish Air Forces, one time Russian military plane was returned before it reached polish air border because he hadn't the transponder. But I saw Russian civilian planes like Il-76 or Airbus over the Poland(i.e.).
Another thing, we were watching Russian military planes from Chernyakhovsk only on ours primary radars, they were never seen on the secondary radars, it means they never used the transponders and you could not watch them on these kind of radars like flightradar

Me too recently. I noticed that Dundalk was mentioned on radar virtuel as a 'new' data supplier, coincidentally I haven't been able to get it on Google....

It has been offline for the last week. I have a feeling that it might not be coming back as it looks like they have hooked up to flightradar24 instead. It would be nice if they could do both.

It has indeed stopped, have a look at this thread for a bit more info : http://www.frequencydb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6833

Was checking this out and its amazing but i can't seem to find out where the flight took off and its destination. How do i get this info, it comes up straight away on RadarVirtuel. tia

Edit; Ok just discovered that not all aircraft have departure and destination details available.

Is the RadarVirtuel service down for Ireland?? Just checking there now and no aircraft over us according to them.

Sometimes, when I watch the web site like http://www.flightradar24.com/ I think how easy is to watch planes. It was not easy to see our ( I mean polish) fighters when I was in service in the air force. It was realy hard job to keep them on the radar screen. And when we lost them from our screens it was always the same question from the high command: Where they are?! Where they are???!!!
It was only one answer: (F**k, F**k,F**k) I can not see them sir :)
