I did a course in Kilmallock 5 weeks ago in order to get a certificate of competency that goes in with my license application. I still haven't received a cert in the post. How long does it usually take.

The course was given by a fella from Tipperary and an elderly gentleman from Galway. Not sure of the names. Anyone know how I might contact a relevant person on this matter and who that person might be?

Surely you have some sort of details for the people who gave the course? How did you arrange it?

I got mine on the day when the course was over.

if you dont know who the 2 gentlmen are that ran the course and dont know how to contact them. i dont think you would be a very competent person to own a firearm.

If you contact somebody where you did the course, (range, gun club etc.) they should be able to tell you who conducted the course and give you their contact details.

5 weeks is too long to wait for a certificate. Usually the person running the course goes home, prints out the cert and posts them off within a day or two. Some even hand out certs on the day.

When you can't spell "fiearm" correctly, I don't think you would be a very competent person to comment on this forum.

to the op...i checked with the nargc stand at the ploughing and was told that chris gavigan was on holidays and he was only just back so the certs were delayed being issued. 5 weeks seems very long though...John Flannery and Vincent Kyne are the two boys...sound lads and excellent course.
