In an attempt to steal my 1991 Peugeot 405 GR would be car thieves sundered the igntion wiring leaving the following unattached wires contained in two seprate wiring loom branches:

    (1) contains 2 thick Orange coloured wires and 2 thick Yellow wires, all unattached.

    (2) contains five wires as follows, all unattached: 1 skinny light blue, 1 skinny purple, 1 skinny white and 2 slightly thicker white.

In order that I can get the car going which of these should I connect to each other in order to (a) turn the ignition on and (b) operate the starter motor?

Also, but of less urgency, How big a job is fixing / replacing the steering lock which was also damaged i.e it doesn't operate?
