Guess the Village/Town/City Thread 2 (read post 1 and reminder of rules on post 9637)

No to the counties (Laois, Carlow) or just the location?

It looks sort of northwest of somewhere.

Just fishing for info, I mean, it looks (a) like the picture points north to northwest and (b) somewhere in the northwest of Ireland. Not overly sure of either point though.

Co. Cavan?

I think it was Ted Crilly who said moss only grows on the northside of things. Looks like there is some growth on the roof.

On that direction, I did say that I wasn't very certain. The cloud and lighting looked a bit like a north to northwest view, I do a lot better with shadows than you might imagine, you can often tell from combined length of shadow and seasonal clues what direction and time of day -- for example I found that shot in Drogheda fairly quickly from those clues (but I was told it was Drogheda so that was not part of it).

This one looks to me like it was taken in late May or early June on an overcast day. That doesn't help at all, except for one point I've noticed, usually but not always the pictures in any given area come from the same day. That sort of sky would not change quickly, so if I start seeing that sort of look to the sky, I will get more interested than if I see clear sky. Anyway, going back to the rest of the thread to see what county we are searching. And when we find the location and it's looking south in late November then I will eat another meal of crow. Tasty.

Is it in the football or hurling area of Cork?
