I just saw on the news, another one of the hell-raising 60s'
generation bites the dust (Shaw, Burton etc), most the those still with us sems to be on the stright and narrow. I was never a huge fan I must say, too much histrionics. I prefered my "angry young men" to be insolant like Michael Caine or Terrance Stamp rather then throwing chairs around the room like Harris and Burton!

Oh he was good in Unforgiven but he'll never be forgiven for Tarzan
    or Orca, Killer Whale...;)

    Mike.

    Yeah, Really bad news.
Heard this on the BBC 10 o’ clock news and as usual the presenter says,
‘British actor’ It Kinda pissed me off.
I’ll always remember him as the 'Bull' McCabe.

    Tom.

    Let's hope so, just kidding!

Sad to see Richard Harris go. He was one of my fav actors and at least from what I know he certainly enjoyed life :) Check out This Sporting Life if you haven't seen it, he's simply spellbinding in it.

A brilliant actor and a great character. I met him on th street in Limerick 2 years ago.

You should give him a vote on the channel 4 top 100. I'd like to see a little tribute. Hollywood were always too proud to give him any recognition.

He was a great actor & great character.

I think that the film industry needs to honour his massive contribution.

I think that - we all will miss his film appearances - Unforgiven, sporting life, Gladiator and theat great film that he was running after the plane with a gang of natives running after him.

I heard it on the early morning news at four. I had just seen The Count of Monte Cristo last week and was thinking of it an hour before I heard it.

    RIP Richard. You'll be remembered.

good thing they finished filming the lord of the rings trilogy. it'd be a bit weird replacing gandalf mid film.

His mate Russell Crowe was spotted in Limerick last night, drinking in some of Harris's old watering holes. Supposedly Julia Roberts was around too.
