That gig is going to crash and burn. It's about €70 a ticket (compared to £27 in London) for a covers band the week before Christmas, which is not a huge amount of notice, and the promoter seems a bit of a spoofer (he tried to set up a sort of investment fund to pay for this and recently had to 'postpone' a silly gig he tried to put on in the Button Factory). If this goes ahead I'll be both surprised and impressed but at that price I'd rather it didn't as it smacks of greed, ego and stupidity.

Who is the promoter? Seems like a shambles.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,403 ✭✭✭spiritcrusher

It's this crowd http://www.lorproductions.net/. Recently tried to put on a gig in the Button Factory comprising of nothing but average and below local bands, was initially charging over €20 for it which then got dropped by a fiver as no one was buying and then the gig was "postponed" a few days before the gig for reasons unknown.
This thing now has VIP packages announced here http://www.eventbee.com/v/gabereed2/event?eid=185029805
I don't want to ruin the surprise but check that link and then remember those prices don't even include admission to the actual gig!

Ahh yeah just found the thread on MI now, should make a great read over the next few weeks! Almost burst into tears laughing when Phil popped up as well. I'm completely unfamiliar with the guy, will have a read of the Stormzone one now. Seems like a complete disaster already.

Ha! Just looked at the promoters website (which is a shambles) and recognised one of the names in the About us page. Without going into detail I would say Cowboy Score: 98 Trustworthiness Score: 3

    From DME's Facebook!
Folks, we've just been informed that the Fear Factory tour announced this morning will now NOT happen. No idea why and this is completely out of our control. Announcement was set for 9am this morning and we received notification of the tour cancellation after this time. So sorry.

    Easy come, easy go :(

    Feel so sorry for DME!

Interesting but not the first Rush tribute to play Ireland, saw a band in the Quays in Galway before, they were pretty damn good too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,099 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Don't think I can make that 2112 show. Up to Dublin for DFA1979 the week before, brothers 30th the week after, to get to Manchester for Steven Wilson the week after that. Don't think I'll justify 4 straight weeks with trips to Dublin. Would be fantastic though.

News from DME, all of Behemoths advertised support are off the line up tonight due to the inability to travel from the UK with the weather.

Replaced by 2 Irish bands. Behemoth still playing.

    Sickened I am.

yous should be thankful the gig is still happening. the promoter went to some serious lengths to have Behemoth still come over to play.

The support bands are certainly not sh*te. Malthusian are a fantastic Irish produce. I'd be happier with them over Decapitated, who seem to be getting worse with every album.
