Steinhart are a German watch company that produce "Swiss Made" mostly homage watches. They are very good value for money and for €365 including shipping you get:

    -Swiss ETA 2824 movement
-Sapphite crystal with inside AR coating
-A very solid, well made match
-C3 Superluminova on dial, hands, and pearl.

The watch is a homage of the Rolex 1680 red Submariner, the first sub with a date. It was produced from around 1966-1973 when the dial writing was changed to white.

The watch was ordered on November 10th and delivered November 21st. Not bad.

The watch was delivered by Fedex and came well packaged. I was half expecting the complementary NATO strap that many seem to have gotten but no joy. Just the box with the watch and some instructions.

The fit and finish is pretty good. The body itself is is almost flawless, the only thing I can see is that the pearl may be a millimetre or so to the right. The crystal is well seated and there is no visible dust inside the watch or any blemish in the AR coating.

It feels good when setting the time and changing the date, I can't comment on accuracy.

The bracelet is fine, it's good and solid but maybe not finished as highly as other parts of the watch. When resizing it I noticed the screws were very loose. I tightened them all but they felt like they'd almost fall out after a while if I didn't.

The lume looks decent. The hands and pearl do glow more than the dial but I don't have any complaints.

Overall I'd recommend the Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red. You will struggle to find the features it has on anything else for the price. Steinhart have a decent following and should hold it's value pretty well.

    Thanks for looking.

    great review and pics...
I really like this one from Steinhart and it was a decision between it and the Ocean 1 Black...went for the O1B as it had the option of the ceramic bezel
    Arrived yesterday aswell...

Keep us posted how you find it

Accuracy is decent so far, about 8s fast in 24 hours. I'd expect this might change a bit as the watch gets worn.

Great review. There parts/watches seem to come into to them in batches, so delivery time is very variable. I ordered mine on 1st September and it arrived on 7th November.
I set it on 8th November and have been wearing it since, just checked now and it is 53s fast -not bad
It was about 5s fast per day initially so maybe it has slowed down a bit as it is settling in.

I agree with you mostly. I did get the complimentary NATO. My Pearl is slightly off to the right too, I find that if I move it one click beyond what is just to the right of 12, i.e. just to the left of 12, and then nudge the bezel clockwise -it lines up perfectly -it's not loose but it does let you move it very slightly to the right, for me anyway.
It's a long time since I've gotten a watch with a bracelet, but I am a little annoyed that the bracelet has gotten marked by the clasp -on the fliplock side very quickly.

Overall very happy. Not too many people have thought that I've started wearing a Rolex thank God (Not that I dislike Rolex, but it is a bit awkward when someone thinks they're admiring your new Rolex only discover it's not)
Great watch for the money :)

Yep, I'm constantly playing with the bezel trying to get it spot on. I'd imagine I must look pretty ridiculous!
