Today I will try and sort a creaking coming from the driver's seat. It's fairly annoying and doesn't only happen when going around a corner.

Hopefully covering the four brackets that hold the seat to the frame in grease will work!

I thought about cleaning my car yesterday but decided a drive would be much fun :D

How are you getting away with the black/silver plates?

I flash the lashes :p Ah no they are ok on 1990 as far as i am aware. Have them on my e46 as well. Only been stopped once with them have them on nearly about two years. Just said i was at a show and i had a spare set in the boot and they said ok. Never been stopped in the e30 with them on.

Changed the oil and filter and cabin filter today on the 320d.

Have it down to about 25 mins flat now :)

So easy with the little cover over to sump plug just coming off with a small screw, all cars should have this.

Changed the droplinks last week for the first time myself too, quite easy and pretty rewarding from a driving point of view, really tightens up the front end.

Also got two new slippers on the front wheels, my customary Falkens, was getting sick of having one 18" and one 16" alloy on the front!

1987 on should be black on the white background (rear plate can be a red background)
1991 on must have the EU shtuff and the county too.

Thems were the rules when I made plates in the 90s :)

Could you get red plates now on a 1987-1990 car? Something different like :pac:

It's the red with steel letters one isn't it?

EDIT: It's red and black, thought I saw one with steel letters before.

Over the weekend there I fitted a replacement clockspring and fixed 3 issues in one go. The right indictor now returns as it should, airbag light is gone out and now a 100% working horn (on the car!!) :pac:

    Quick but very worthwhile fix.

Not really, my reading of that is that his own 'horn' isn't working

Well, today someone else did something to my car. Some bastard hit the left front bumper when I was in the supermarket in Swords. No real damage but the numberplate and numberplate backing has come off and the bumper's been pushed back 5-10mm on the left side. **** On the flipside it looks like it's come off before - there were holes drilled into the backing.

Yesterday I replaced the thermostat but the gauge is now showing nothing, it's offscale low. The temp senders are incompatible on the replacement thermostat so I had to use the old one. Maybe it's the sender that's broken.

What kind of a stat set up is on the Alfa, doesn't the stat just open and close ?
