One of the crew last year actually got knocked off by a runner

Lead International & Irish Men, lead International & Irish Women and the lead wheelchairs are all allocated marshals. Bray are doing the men & women, Orwell the wheelchairs.

But the most important thing, is don't think about having a clipless moment. Then you will definitely have a clipless moment.

First Day on the Trails at Ballinastoe. Crashed a couple of times. Stalled and fell in a stream! Rained the whole time. The upper trail is utterly mental. Had a blast. Mountain biking is hard and I suck at it.*

    *Except the uphill bit.

So, phonecall from a family member asking whether I had a hacksaw. Key had broken in their cheap wire lock. Bike's pretty safe where it is, but they wanted to use it and sort it. Called over. One look at the lock, no need for hacksaw and 10 seconds of hanking the bike and the thing just smashed. If I hadn't have been worried about damaging the bike at all I would have had it done in the first pull. A lesson to all involved, they're going to buy a D lock.

First day of my winter commute on the new bike down...impressions...
    • PSV's really don't leave you much space to play with at all
    • Fixed gear and spd-sl's take a few heart-in-throat moments to get used to
    • I need to get panniers or a big saddle bag of some sort

Probably nothing new, but jokes on you for spending time reading it :pac:

Nice photo feature on Le Tour in the Torygraph. I particularly like No 6 with Poulidor and Anquetil mano a mano.

Snapped a spoke in the Mavic rims last night while doing sprint drills on the rollers, wasn't a nice experience.

This one is for the foodies. My old flatmate from Paris (he's Irish) set up a business here a few years ago to do corporate catering. It's going very well for him at the moment. Everyday he updates the facebook page and I'm in awe of the photos he produces. I think some of you maybe sampling his work in yours.
