Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Can anyone give me directions from Cavan town to leggykelly in redhills?

    I was thinking of cycling up with a few friends but I don't know the directions. I drove up last year but I cant this year :L cheers :)

    to be honest, you'd be as handy to just cycle the back roads if youre not driving as I wouldnt like to be on a bike with 2 trucks passing each other on the road from Butlersbridge to the border.

    Its almost the same distance to go via Ballyhaise (so out to st pats and then veer right) and Redhills and its an obvious enough route if you look at the map.

    yeah, but there's just as many dangers. That road is v. narrow in spots, has many sharp and blind bends, and like many back routes, is prone to a variety of speeding machines, not just cars.. For a bicycle, i'd take my chances on the main route. Maybe drive out one route, back the other, then decide which you'd prefer.

    it depends what you consider danger.
    For me 2 cars travelling at 100km/h trying to pass each other, and you, or time their meeting to try and avoid killing you by passing before or after they might meet at the same point of the road where you are, now thats danger.
    Or a truck trying to overtake you but stay in close enough to allow cars pass in the other direction.

    Personally, I'd see the quiet road with lower traffic on it, especially trucks, as being a safer and more stress free option.
