Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hi,
    I'm getting a saorview box & am wondering does anyone have any ideas or recommendations. Long story short I want to record some shows from rte & tg4 & put them on a seperate external hard drive where I keep all my movies, tv etc. Can anyone recommend a box that records in hd, doesn't encode & records in a standard format that will play on a multimedia hard drive, like mp4's? I already have a sky box so I'm not looking for all the bells & whistles, just a way to record & transfer directly to another hard drive to watch on a computer etc.

    Thanks Peter, I'm living in Limerick so I got a Ferguson Digital STB instead. I have a usb in the back & it works a treat. Thanks for the advice though, it's much appreciated.
