These are the notes i made out myself for jack:) they're like 2 pages long handwritten, so enough to get you through a question.

    Teideal an dáin
    · Tá an teideal an dáin an-simplí. Úsáidtear focal amháin; ainm an buachalla.
    · Is teideal pearsanta agus gonta é.
    · Cruthaíonn an teideal íomhá den bhuachaill.
    · Tugann an teideal urraim agus ómós (respect and honour) don leaid tríd an dáin síos.
    Téama an dáin
    · Dán grá is ea Jack, ach ní dán grá ar nós na seandánta é.
    · Is grá na hóige nó grá soineanta an tsamhraidh atá i gceist.
    · Tá an file ag dul síos bóithrín na smaointe le cuimhí na hóige.
    · Thit an file i ngrá le buachaill nuair a bhí sí óg. Ach ní raibh ann ach grá samhraidh, grá sealadach, grá éadrom.
    · Pé scéal é, guíonn an file gach maitheas agus ádh air ina shaol sa todhchaí, mar tá sé tuillte aige, dar léi.
    · Sa chéad dhá véarsa, tá an béim ar an ócáid agus cuma an buachalla. Cruthaíonn an file suíomh agus atmaisféar faoi leith.
    · Ní cuimneoidh Jack ar Mháire go deo, ach ní dhearmadfaidh Máire air go deo.
    Mothúcháin
    · Is iad na mothúcháin is mó atá le brath sa dán seo ná lúchair agus aoibhneas an chailín agus í faoi gheasa ag ógánach dathúil ar bhuail se leis ar saoire.
    · Ní léiríonn sí aiféala dá laghad de bharr nár tháinig aon rud as gcumann a bhí eatarthu.
    · Tá grá éadrom le sonrú sa dán; is grá éagmaiseach é. Bhí an file i ngrá le Jack ach ní raibh seisean i ngrá léi.
    · Spreagann cuimhne an tsamhraidh úd cumha (nostalgia) agus dea-cuimhní i gcroí an bhfile.
    Íomhánna
    · Baineann an file úsáid mhór as íomhánna deasa sa dán seo.
    · Cruthaíonn sí pictiúr deas soiléir den ógánach os ár gcomhair sa dán; tá sé le feiceáil sa chéad líne – ‘Strapaire fionn sé troithe ar airde’.
    · Feictear Jack freisin sna mion sonraí – ‘a gháire ciúin’ agus ‘a ghruaig nua-chíortha’. Is focail molta iad.
    · Tá ar a cumas pictiúr corraitheach den buachaill a chruthú dúinn in sa líne sin, ‘ní dhearúdfad a ghéaga im thimpeall’.
    Rithim
    · Baineann sí úsáid as friotal lom gonta simplí sa dán. Léirítear an méid seo i gcruinneas agus i ngontacht línte mar ‘buí fén lampa ar bheagán íle’ agus ‘mar atá tréitheach go dté crích air’.
    · Tá cuid mhait samplaí de dheismíreacht cainte sa dán seo. Is iad na cinn is deise ná ‘Strapaire fionn’, ‘mo rogha phairtí’ agus ‘mar gheal lem chroí é’. Cuireann an deismíreachtaí caintte go mór le rithim agus le hatmaisféar an dáin.
    Meadaracht
    · Tá an dán scríofa sa saorvéarsaíocht. Tá ceithre líne i ngach rann agus ceithre bhéim i ngach líne.
    · Tá rithim rialta ag baint leis an dán. Tá sé éifeachtach agus ceolmhar.
    · Tá comhfhuaimeanna le tabhairt faoi deasa ag deireadh na rélínte. Tá an comhfhuaim dheiridh seo an ‘í’ an-éifeachtach agus téann sé i bhfeidhm go mór ar an gcluais. Mar shampla, i véarsa a haon tá comhfhuaim idir airde, tíre, oíche agus rince.
    · Tá samplaí d’uaim sa dán freisin idir ciúin agus chaint, agus idir búi ahis bheagán.
    · Tá samplaí d’aicill idir airde agus iarthar agus idir sé agus dté.
    · Tá rithim nádúrtha agus binneas na teanga lebhartha chun tosaigh ann chomh maith.
    Pearsanta Jack
    · Is easca Jack a shamhlú, é a fheiceáil inár n-intinn féin. Is léir go bhfuil sé béasach agus taitneamhach. Déanann Máire tagairt dá gháire, chaint, léine agus ghruaig.
    · Léirítear dúinn cén sórt saol atá i ndán dó. Bhí feirm a athar a fháil mar oidhreacht, bean aitiúil a phósadh agus clann a tógáil i ndán dó.
    · Is léir gur thaitin a chomhluadar go mór léi nuair a deir Máire ‘Dob é an samhradh so mo rogha ‘pháirtí é’.
    · Glacann Máire leis, áfach, nach bhfuil aon rud buan i ndán don chumann a bhí eatharthu.

At this point I'm at complete panic stations for paper 2 :( Paper 1 will be fine provided I can use stuff on economics/emmigration/drugs/alcohol.

How badly does one have to do in everything to actually fail higher Irish?

THE HEADLINES, student runs out of examination hall .........and trips over himself in the process.what an idiot. this highlights the negative side effects of the leaving cert.

Completely freaking out...only ONE essay learned on road safety...ready to cry at this stage. Literally only going to learn one more, could anyone suggest one that would be fairly likely to come up and general enough that I can work it into anything? So worried about tomorrow its not even funny.

Do what I've done and learn one essay and not even look at the poems!!
That is the recipe for failure.

Economy/recession and emigration is highly tipped to come up, so I'd learn a few key phrases and words on that:) better off learning phrases than essays:)
