    Just have a few questions.

Anybody know what the grading system is at DIT and the % for Pass, Merit Lower, Merit Upper and Distinction. Can't seem to come up with it.

Also just wanted to know for example you get your average in your exams and what happens after the results? the graduations are not until November and if you wanted to transfer to another collage will they just accept your second year results or will they say which grade you got for example Merit Upper overall. I will have the Higher Cert and want to move to UL.

    Thanks for help in advance!

usually - some course may differ slightly (eg im doing a post grad where below 50 is a fail)
    40-49% - pass
    50-59 - 2.2
    60-69 - 2.1
    70+ a first

although marks are not as easy come by as in the leaving cert!
The "course document" should have the grading system in it

following college, requesting applicants to have a first, 2.1 etc is only a starter criteria anyway, colleges will ask for your final year transcript of results as proof, with the breakdown for each module, not your graduation cert. Most courses got them by the second week in June

edit - so if your in college 4/5 years all those June results slips are generally useless until the final one... that one is rather important, keep it

So basally if all my modules are between 60-69% I will get my 2:1 Merit. Going to try for the 70%+ however my main air is the upper merit.

Id still have a look at the course document as some modules may be weighted heavier than others. You can get it in the library or if you find the dit webpage for your course there should be a link there
