Decent finale... love the pranks, with 'Cotton Eye Joe' being a personal highlight.

Kinda assumed Taylor Swift would be playing herself... so nice suprise to see how not playing such a repugnant whiny asshat!

I just "cottoned" on that the episode title is Elaine's big day.

Those characters would have been 11 when that song came out!

Why is this show so good. Every week gets consistent laughs from me and finale was no different. Plenty of great scenes and a few storyline threads left hanging made for a great finale IMO.

I was wondering the same thing. I think it's a combination of everything: the writers, the actors, the casting of guest stars.

The creator, Elizabeth Meriwether, deserves a lot of credit for keeping it so consistent.

I think creators generally get far too much credit and criticism for how shows go after the pilot tbh. There's probably a dozen writers working on a show like this.

Oh, definitely. Especially in the States when they tend to take a backseat after the pilot. Meriwether still seems pretty involved, though. I read an interesting article from the AV cLub with her and her co-showrunners about managing the show.

I loved the final episode. Thought Winston was better than he had been all season. And adored the Nick/Jess finale... I have to admit, I thought it was going to go the other way.
