I had my girls name picked from the moment I found out I was pregnant. So, not really...

And by the way, yep it is just that easy ;). Is it your first child? Your wife could be in labour for hours and hours... so just tell her to ring you as soon as she gets the first twinges!

I have 2 boys, Dylan and Conor, and was thinking Aidan for a boy but have come up with Chelsy for a girl. What do you all think of Chelsy/Chelsea?

Finally back online, the OH is 33 weeks tomorrow so the time is getting very near thank god. Picking a name is getting impossible though, we have it settled between 3(for now) which are Sophie, Alyssa or Freya.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 154 ✭✭galwaygirleen

Absolutley love the name Freya its so pretty.

My OH is refusing to discuss names tho till closer to the time as theres just so many to choose!!!

Really struggling on boys names myself I want a name that cant be shortened.. which i know would happen like.. James... Jim Jimmy Jimbob and Jamie.. cant get that out of my head.

    Laoise, emmm thats nice.

Sorry but Jayden is b****y awful!

No one had heard of it until Britney used it - trust me your kid will NOT thank you for it!

i'm with that girl...my other half and I really like Jayden. Found it in a baby book....dont give a ****e about britney or what any of the celebs are naming their spawn...so hadn't got a clue about that one! :p

    For boys:

    Jayden
    Tristan
    Jamie
    Dylan

    For girls:

    Teagan
    Ruby
    Cadence
    Lydia

I think it's a girl for some odd reason...and out of all of them I love Teagan the best, nice irish name with a nice meaning!

Someone earlier had it with a Q, I was wondering were they unaware as they had said it was an Irish name, not with a Q it isn't though!

What did Quality eventually name her baby, I couldn't be trying to flick back through all the posts to find it.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 10,259 ✭✭✭✭Melion

Please dont call your child Qaoimhe or Queeva. Its Caoimhe, its not hard to spell or pronounce. We got a card after our daughter was born with Queeva written on it, shocking!

Caoimhinn is the boys version of Caoimhe, the irish of Kevin. Its pronounced kee-veen or caoimhainn is que-vawn.

Thats my god daughters name and they pronounce it Kay-lynne.

As I dont speak Irish I dont have a clue about how to pronouce Irish names.

If I ever am lucky to have a little girl, she will be called Delia-Pearl.
Delia after this wonderful old lady who lived beside us as kids and was so loving and kind to us, Pearl because my engagement ring is a 1920's Cartier diamond and Pearl ring and the word Pearl reminds me of the wonderful love and support of my amazing husband.... Sad or what!!!
