Ipod Classic or mp3?

I'm looking to buy a new music player. I currently have a Creative Zen Nano Plus. It only stores 1Gb and I'm looking for something with a bigger memory. A friend has an Ipod Classic 5th generation. It stores 30Gb, well enough memory, and has a nice feel to it and good sound. However I've heard that the batteries tend to break and cost a lot to replace and that itunes is sort of inconvinient. I have a budget of E100. To put it bluntly, I'm not very careful, and don't want an ipod Nano or anything as breakable.
    Cheers.

As far as I'm aware the batteries used by Apple at them moment are solid, priviously they had used some incredibly poor battery with a high failure rate but that was well over 5 years ago.

If your budget is 100euro you won't get a classic unless you buy second hand, and based on your needs I think the classic might be overkill and suffer in terms of reliability. Why? because the ipod classic uses a HDD whereas just about every other DAP nowadays uses flash memory, HDD can break if you drop them (although I am more than aware that a drop is unlikely to kill an ipod, it does happen)

I don't know if you actually need 30gb? I mean going from 1gb to 30 is a bit of a leap right! Anyway other than the classic you might want to look at Sony's cheaper range, definitely check out the Sandisk Sansa fuze and clip+ (which are the best sound DAPs available), forget about Creative - their products are the most complained about by users of this forum.
