Several Coronation Street characters will apparently find love over the summer.

"Everyone loves a good romance. Producers saw the popularity of the royal wedding so are giving the public what they want on the street as well," a source said.

"We are expecting at least 14 characters to find love over the summer; some with disastrous consequences and others with happier endings."

Forgive me - I'm confused.

Where does John Stape fit in to all this ?

ah ..I see many of you are unaware of a storyline which cropped up in the late 80's where it was revealed that while visiting the Earth at Night, a group of alien botanists is discovered and disturbed by an approaching human task force. Missed one or two programmes. that must be one of them.

What about Tina now? If Tommy Dickworth is prancing about after that other young one, who's left for her? Not that I think she deserves a prat like him..he struts about like a fella who believes he's miles further up the goodlooksometer than he actually is. What about the doctor though, he's handsomely hovvering around in the background. I can't see him with Tina for some reason..I could picture him and Maria together strangely..my feelings confuse me, could it be that she's a wee bit classier maybe?

I reckon Steve McDonald will probably get his hands on Tina sooner or later. She's about the only woman on Coronation Street that he hasn't slept with, apart from Rita Sullivan

Oh, I hope they do that. I could see Maria and the doctor as a couple and hopefully they could stay together until she leaves the show. Maria has had way too much crap thrown at her in the last few years. The only thin is Coronation St is a bit down-market for a doctor to live on. They'd have to live somewhere else and just be on the street for work/socialising like Audrey.

What about Tyrone for Tina? They have both been cheated on, Tina lost her dad, Tyrone lost Jack and...............................................um, their names sort of go together. That's all I have really, they'd be nearly as unlikely a couple as Graham and Tina were, or Maria and Tyrone.

I would like to see Tina back with David - I thought she worked well with him and was at her best then as a character plus Kylie is awful and should pi$$ off

The doctor seems to be a very minor character. He only seems to be a cipher to accommodate other storylines. I'd be surprised if he was given any major storyline himself.

Sunita's aunties tried setting him up with her I think due to the shame of her being married to Dev 'did he go to drama school and if so did he actually graduate?' Al-Ahan- that's about as good as his storylines have been in recent months. He did get to fire Gail-Force in his first week though...

Seems TV3 have made a mistake and put Mondays 8.30 episode up on their player already, there's a good scene in it between Roy, Hayley and his Mother. Its a bit disjointed because they haven't put the 7.30 episode up yet. I always thought Roy was a fine actor, pity his charachter has been a bit muted and pigeon holed over the years.
