Well, guys, if you think I am an emplyee, (which im not) then clearly email the owner guy. No, ones stopping you. I hardly think that a company would get their employees onto a website to write good reviews. And if they did, they've clearly missed this site!!
Hehe, you guys talk like uv solved a puzzle.....
Simply because i dont share ur opinions, doesnt make me wrong.

Email the website owner you mean? Sure isn't that you, why would we do that?

Incidentally - anyone notice his post history? All 5 posts, spread over 3 months, concern defending this cinema... heh. Pathetic.

Nasty

Glad to hear so many people are dissatisfied with this cinema. I know it makes no difference but I'd like to vent my spline anyway.

I live right beside the new shopping centre and have being egearly awaiting the opening of the brand new cinema and all the hopes and dreams of an orgasmic viewing experience it promised.

It's ****e! Using meta text '@' in the title is really sad, dated, boring and out of touch with everyone. It might've worked around 1990 but probably not. The interior decor is an insult and assult on the eyes. It looks like it was designed as a community out reach programme. On one hand you have the shopping centre which, altough looking a little souless projects a cool, contemporary image of the new affulent Ireland and blah, blah, blah and on the other hand you have this disgusting picture house with it's nasty logo, interior, picture quality, sound, service and price that runs in direct contrast to what we've being promised by the rest of the 'Dundrum Town Centre' experience! It turns the brand to crap.

And the website! Sweet mother of Jesus. As a graphic design student this site makes me feel ashamed. The fact that someone in this country could have actually made such a thing is quite scary. I can only hope the person was mentally disabled or going through a very difficult time in their lives.

One last thing. I went to see Pavee Lacken in 'it' and a goup of little D4 ****es were sitting beside me. They talked the whole way through such an intimate film. Not one member of staff appeared while they mocked the films protagonists and at the end of the film the head ****e stood up and asked 'Whot the hell was that ****e?' Thank god my girlfriend was there.

Ok, now I can go back to work and I would suggest that people go to the IFI and Screen Cinema. I'm always happy when leaving either of them.

Joe

Don't expect a speedy reply!!!

According to the website, it's "Ireland's newest, most advanced cinema multiplex" - it may be the newest but most advanced???? Who are these people trying to kid?

I didnt know so many people dislike Movies@Dundrum, ive only been there twice its a nice cinema. I work in the ormonde we always get nice complements from our customers. If you wish to complain about anything, ring the cinema(2916800). We recently got the HD digital projectors which are sweet, nice sound and nice video.

well i tell you one thing about dundrum their ticket booking isn't as bad as UCI blanch, i booked tickets last friday night, picked them on the seating plan, dead centre of the cinema, turned up and was shown to our seats on the right wall, what gives i asked these aren't the seat numbers on the tickets, i was told that "seats get broken and have to be replaced and therfore you can't trust the numbers on the seats", but it still doesn't explain the fact we were moved from the middle of the cinema to the right hand wall, and i was told, sometimes the online booking does that, you'll be moved without any notice, f that i'm never going back.

(I understand that this is probably a dead thread but I thought I'd just add this in)

According to the website, it's "Ireland's newest, most advanced cinema multiplex" - it may be the newest but most advanced???? Who are these people trying to kid?
After looking back over some of the posts I find it hilarious that none of you have gotten a response to any emails...it's because you are using the wrong email! The email is info@movies-at.ie not info@moviesatdundrum.com and this is clearly stated on their website. (However I notice that they have a new site up with only a booking page and no other links active at the moment)

I have worked in a number of cinemas and I still work in the cinema industry (not Movies@ before you start flaming) and it's clear that most of the negative comments, not all, have come from narrow minded idiots who have no idea how difficult it is to run a busy cinema environment and keep everybody happy...especially a new INDEPENDENT cinema multiplex which has no corporate financial backing or policies that have been set in stone by bigwigs from the USA or whatever. They are learning from their mistakes and teething problems and for that you have to give them credit.

It's obvious that these guys are trying hard to make it a great cinema and are just hindered by the fact the so many things have gone wrong since they opened which, let me tell you from first hand experience, happens in EVERY BLOODY CINEMA! The reason you are picking on these is because they are new and had a bit of an advertising campaign before they opened and you therefore expect it to be the best cinema ever...it's not, it's just a cinema...what do you want from it?

I've been a few times and only ever encountered one problem with the online booking which was rectified for me as soon as I emailed them. I don't see why everybody gets so worked up about a cinema...they show movies, provide you with food (don't even talk about price because I'm sure this has been covered already), give you comfy seats and then send you on your way. You get what you pay for, stop expecting 5-Star treatment for €20-30 it's not gonna happen.

Also another note on the website - All you realistically need to be able to do is book tickets and see what's showing and they give you that service. Any other info you need can be obtained from IMDB or whatever so stop whining, it's just a website...if it bothers some of you that much why don't you build one for them and pitch it to them?!

because that would require effort and it would mean that I'm no longer entertained by people complaining about everything...

It's too expensive. I went once to see, Date Movie I think??, and it cost 9 euro and that was a student ticket. In Cineworld a student ticket is 6 something and it's a much nicer cinema.

I was none too impressed with dundrum either. I found the bright red decor made u feel cholstraphobic, + even the paid stickers for your food were big bright green ones too, which made me feel about 5.

It's far too expensive, and u've to pay for the parking. There really should be a deal like dun laoighre where u don't have to payy for that.

CINEWORLD. Now there's a cinema. Actual student rates, and don't let me start gushing about screen 17...

Yeah probably because this thread was started in 2005, you know, when King Kong was in the cinema.

UGC is called Cineworld these days and has been for quite a while.

Good job though.
