Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Hello all,

    First off mods - sorry as always if this is the wrong place to post this. Feel free to move at will.

    8Radio.com is an online radio station usually delivered via its own Smartphone apps, TuneIn and the like but also does 15 weekends a year on FM in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

    This year we're on for the next 5 weekends on 106.7FM in Cork until July 6th and again every weekend in September and October.

    Tune in if you get a chance - and if you're in a band, please feel free to submit music for airplay consideration music AT 8radio DOT com

    Might even play you a request!

    Well, it's a real mixture. Here's a sample hour from last weekend:

    Mick Flannery: Get what you give
    L7: Pretend we're dead
    Willis Earl Beal: Coming Through

    That's the general format at the weekend. On weeknights from 8, there are more specialist programmes and from 11pm each night, we move to a more mellow playlist - everything from Kate Bush to Steely Dan to Carriages.

    Thanks very much Vince and Whatever, much appreciated. Our promotional team (both of them!) will be in Cork City Centre on Friday afternoon putting up posters in shops/pubs etc. Be nice to them if you see them about :)

    8Radio.com is back on air on 106.7FM in Cork for the next 8 weekends. Tune in if you get a chance!

    As I mentioned before, if you're in a band, feel free to send us tracks for playlist consideration. Send 192k MP3s to music AT 8Radio DOT com with some biog info. We're also hoping to do an outside broadcast from Cork city during this FM run so look forward to seeing some of you!

    Seeing as emailing 8 radio achieved nothing, maybe posting here will do something.
    Quite a while ago, my wife won the draw when Kate Bush's Hounds of Love was the featured classic album.
    However, no one from 8radio got in touch with her. Regardless, she texted in her details. After several weeks, nothing arrived.
    I emailed 8radio, got a reply and was assured the cd would shortly arrive.
    It didn't.
    Nice prize😒
