On topic: Last time I took the political compass test I came out quite close to Gandhi.

    Racist against black people?

    Racist against black people?
Yeah, obviously he strongly agreed with the "I hate black people" question

Yeah, obviously he strongly agreed with the "I hate black people" question

It was a joke, given Gandhi's notorious disdain for black people.

The questions/statements on that test are very misleading. Rather than a agree, no opinion, disagree; the questions go from very positive to very negative. It is very easy to get mixed up with those questions. The language left a bit to be desired.

I can't really disagree with my result though - didn't take the pic, but it very left and further down that Gandhi. So I think that means - if I have a beer in my back garden, then I don't care what happens the world.

Yeah, Gandhi, well known for not giving a ****e what went on in the world as long as he was happy.

I'm more Liberal than the last time I took it, and slightly more to the right. Is this part of a Libertarian evolution? I hope not...

Did it twice in a row and came out similar, a little further left first time. This is the second shot.

I'm a socialist apparently, but I'll be voting FG/Labour, would also vote last pref for SF if they had a candidate here. Odd really.

I suggested using the site on this forum a few weeks ago and got laughed at. Anyway, this is my compass. There are many like it but this one is mine.

I would consider myself very socially conservative by most standards, so surprised enough at that.

Isn't it compiled by a British group?

I thought it was by an American. I'm economically left wing but I'm not that far left wing. A more realisitic picture of my politics would be:

    Economic Left/Right: -3.00
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.00

Huh, shift of about 5 squares to the left since the last time I did this test....well, not unexpected.

So economically i'm pretty right wing but am quite liberal socially. In terms of irish politics i'd probably be a combo of the economic conservatism- small state, pro business etc.- of fine gael but the social liberalism of labour's bacik-ite wing. Or, conversely you could argue that it is a mesh of fine gael's two wings- the pluralist, socially liberal wing of Garret Fitzgerald and the economically conservative wing espoused by varadkar, bruton and co.

Globally this would probably most similar to germany's fdp, the libertarian wing of the uk conservatives or (dare i say it) the original ideological intentions of the irish progressive democrats (before ff got their hands on them) =)
