    Hi all,

    I originally posted a question in the travel section but it's prob more appropriate here.

    Myself and my fiance are getting married next July and are planning to go on our honeymoon next August for 2 weeks. We're having a hard time choosing a destination and were wondering if anyone could offer a bit of advice?

    Initially, our first thoughts were to go to somewhere like Mauritius and stay in an all-inclusive resort. Also, based on the time of year we were looking to go, Trailfinders suggested this location as an ideal choice.

    However, now we don't think we want to go on a package deal at all. We basically came to the conclusion that it wouldn't really be that special. If someone like Trailfinders didn't sell the package to us, they'd sell it to someone else and we have a feeling that a lot of these typically honeymoon destinations will be jammed full of other hooneymooners.

    We were thinking it could be really nice to go to somewhere like Italy or Greece, rent a really nice villa with an amazing pool, rent a really nice car etc.

    Thing is, we don't know where to start looking. We like the idea of staying somewhere private but as it's our honeymoon, we'd like to be taken care of too. Is something like that possible?

    I had a quick scan last night but I wasn't able to find anything in our price range. Everything in Greece was coming out at over €10K :eek:.

    Thing is, it's twice the price of going to Mauritius :(. Does anyone know of a good place to look for the above style within our price range?

    Our budget is €5K - €7K

    Hi shuffles. Take a look at hotel canaves in Santorini. Similar to your first link. I think for seven nights and flights it was about 5000. If you are based in cork I have the name of a wonderful travel agent who specialises in honeymoons and has very good suggestions based on your budget. Very much worth whatever we paid her. Also we were able to be upgraded to a better room in the hotel which she had organised.
