engine revs increase when changing gears

    What might cause my jeep to increase revs when clutch is pressed to change gears? Its bloody annoying. Sticking clutch??

    What make, model and age? More likely to get specific advice. Hate the the generic term 'jeep' especially if applied to a Land Rover!! :mad::)

    Modern electronically controlled engines with fly by wire throttles can have a switch on the clutch pedal to stop engine flare when you depress the clutch, it could just be that gone or a loose wire.

    If it's an older engine with a cable throttle, that could be worn or sticky.

    Either way it's unlikely to be the clutch itself.

    Bizzarely a mate of mine is having this issue on his 06 landcruiser 150. From reading around some forums it seems it could be the fuel pump.
