    Fergie’s traffic light problems

FIANNA FÁIL Cllr. Fergie Kehoe brought the latest Borough Council meeting to a stop when he raised the issue of the ineffectual traffic lights at the top of Hill St., recently.

Cllr. Kehoe said the light-bulbs in a lot of traffic lights in the town, (most notably outside schools and at the top of Hill St.), no longer work. Town Manager Adrian Doyle denied the problem, saying: “They have all been repaired.”

Cllr. Kehoe replied: “They are not in sequence to what they originally were (on Hill St.) It doesn’t give enough time for the pedestrian crossing on the road and for traffic exiting from John St.
“When you’re going down to Hill St. when you go through the green light the red light comes on immediately afterwards.”

    http://www.wexfordecho.ie/news/eymhcwqloj/

Fooking Nora..........has Fergie nothing more important to do than check out the sequence of the traffic lights on Hill St.?

Fergie, please, find something important to make a fuss about.........and while you're at it, I'll have a Full Irish, ta.

In the Enniscorthy Guardian this week – in no order of importance.

    1. Council to mark pay lip service to Rising.

    2. Three arrests after jeeps intercepted – story about the ongoing battle with fuel thieves. Garda car rammed near Scarawalsh during the incident but at least some arrests made.

    3. Tempers boil over in Shannon on St.Patrick’s night – it wasn’t the only hot spot!

    4. Rapist Larry Murphy ‘spotted’ in Wexford. While the Guardian pours cold water on social media sightings of Murphy it has it ‘on good authority’ though that he is living in Spain! Lucky old Spaniards – isn’t it great the way these people are allowed to roam about Europe.

    5. Ivan on the verge of going bankrupt – a report on the once mighty Ivan Yates and his impending escape to Wales and the lenient bankruptcy laws. At least we will be spared his bs on ‘Newstalk’.

That’s more than enough – if I have anything positive to say about the Guardian, it is that I don’t have to pay for it and it only takes five minutes to flick through and then I pass on it to my neighbour.

Front Page goes with the car chase yesterday morning already mentioned alond with the death of Fr John Sweetman of Bannow.

Traffic Changes to go to a vote. This means changes made at Robert street, William street and parking at the top of Michael street may be changed back.

Protests against so-called foreign labour have stopped at Great Island Plant.

New Aldi in Bunclody. (I don't know why this is in the New Ross Standard tbh)

St Canice's to get an extension.

The County Dump in Holmstown is to close until further notice next month due to a drop in material coming to the site since the bin service was sold.

Good news story in this week's NR Echo on the front page "New Ross gets new action group", its good to read a positive story, a group of New Ross businesswomen forming a non-political group to rejuvenate the town.

    Today's (27th March) Enniscorthy Guardian

    Ex-Priest facing gross indecency charges.
    Front page banner headline.

Browne's big day to coincide with FF expulsions.
'Fianna Fail is still a strong brand. We need to get rid of the dead wood' ............ how about starting with yourself?

St.Senan's hospital 'not fit for human habitation'.

Three in court after garda car rammed.....a rare success story following on from last week's fuel theft saga. No doubt they will get off with a warning or be sent to Loughan House Prison Holiday Camp.

Buy the paper if you want more.

Incidentally, there are three or four jobs advertised too!!

Don't seem to be anything further on this story .

In the NR Standard Council notes though , some interesting stuff :
    • Robert St is going to revert to 2-way traffic , but only from the Church upwards ..The white markings that were put down last week will be burned off .
    • The new Bosheen Bungalows are 1.5 bedroom houses - not 2 bedroom houses .
    • A Minister is coming to lay the foundation for the new Swimming Pool
    • Investigation as to why the town is going into darkness half-way through the night .
    • The town park pitch will be ready for use in time for Festival in July .
    • Students are deliberately walking out in front of cars , but one student got his come-uppance last week when a driver got out and gave him a few smacks .
    • Finally good news ... Jobs ... yes the Town Council are taking on workers , as more than half their staff retired last month .

Was wondering why they were re-doing the wall ay O'Rourkes.

Jesus cant wait for Creywell hill to re-open. The amount of times I drive that way only to have to spin the whole way around out by Manions and back into town. Real pain.

Noticed they started work on the road again on the quay. badly needed.

Bit going on so with the town with the swimming pool being built and all.

Just need someone to re-open the old cinema now (not likely)
