Work Experience?

Does anyone know if places will take people on for work experience? I've looked everywhere for a summer job and I'm getting nowhere, but I'd be quite happy to work for free if it meant I got some useful experience.

I'm sure somewhere would have you for work experience, but if you're in the area, just to give you a head start, I think the Barnardos (or possibly the Gorta next door) on lower liffey street in Dublin was looking for volunteers a week or so ago.

Charity work (not chugging!) could be a good way to get some experience, and they'd probably be more accepting of workers that may need training. When I was in transition year I had no problem getting work experience, but I imagine that at the moment there may not be as many places willing to have untrained people with them, even if it is for free. Good Luck.

As true-or-false stated, give it a bash and start asking around.

It depends on what your field / area of interest is aswell.

like some places would be more readily available and willing to take someone on unpaid / trainee.

say you where in the Financial sector ( see what i did there ) you might find it harder to get somewhere to take you on unpaid

Try all the jobs sites and fas in the intern sections. Don't bother with jobbridge as you are not on social welfare by the sounds of it

There are a load of companies here who are looking for interns:

Many would be JobBridge, but I reckon you could contact them and say you don't want to do JobBridge - you simply want to work for free for the summer. Some are bound to say yes.
