How to broadcast music over ustream

Hi all,

I have a ustream channel that I use to do an audio commentary on football matches (Waterford United in the League of Ireland), however during half time, i have what is known as dead time about 10 minutes in which there is no action and I usually use this time to take a break. I was wondering therefore how you broadcast music from my files during this interval? I have a sound card, headphones with mic that I use with leads and jacks but to no avail. Also how do you record the broadcasts for the archive? Many thanks.

This is my channel.

Well man the best way of doing them both I would think is to use SAM Broadcaster, and leave the mic on Can I ask you a cheeky question, did you get onto the FAI and how long did it take? Trying to do the same with Cork City and the useless b*stards still haven't gotten back to me!

Thanks for that. No I did not get onto the FAI. I just set up the radio station and off I went. I only cover the away games and before I do the broadcast I ensure that a) I have permission from the host club and b) no other broadcaster is transmitting the game live.

That's very fair like. City have a lot of exile fans who have been crying out for ages, but the club won't budge until the FAI says anything. Sorry to take it OT btw, SAM's great, and if you can get interviews you can loop it into the broadcast as well!

Cheers. Nothing to stop you from doing the webcast at the City games.

Thanks for that.

We are also not allowed to broadcast the games at home so we usually do the away matches after asking for permission of course which is usually granted.

Odd that yer not allowed do it at home! Era it's a joke, there's no live games on the radio. So just let whoever wants to do it at a local level do it and get on with it!
