been rinsing Elzhi- "Elmatic" recently. Really feeling this album, not a patch on Illmatic, but still very very good imo

These things are ten a penny these days with youtube but I've always enjoyed this cover. She did the whole The Who Sell Out album like this.

the internet is starting to eat itself! Simon Reynolds' retromania is a good critique of the recycling of music and post-modern (hate that term, but you get the point) critique of how modern pop music is reinventing and re-interpreting the past in ever decreasing time lines to create something new. His main argument being that there has been nothing radically new in pop culture since the birth of electronica.
