There was a dig in finglas about 7 years ago, down near the old bridge at the cross roads near the river road.
Anyone what they found or how would one go about finding out?

Dig in Finglas
There was a dig in finglas about 7 years ago, down near the old bridge at the cross roads near the river road.

There was a pretty big one maybe two years ago,they found a high-status burial.

There was a dig near the church at the bottom of the hill... a Viking/Hiberno-Norse burial was excavated. Female with tortoise style brooches found among the grave goods, indicating high status.
Search through Archaeology Ireland back issues for the full details. I can't remember the whole story, sorry...

They found the remains of a viking woman, she still had some clothing on made of twead, she wore a very expensive brooch for its time, she may have been irish married to a viking king.
