Shotgun ammo

Sorry I know there is a smilar thread regarding pigeon ammo but im looking for more general purpose ammo. Basically I want to stock up for next season, I shoot ducks, phesant, magpies etc and go at the crows sometimes for a bit of practice so im not shooting more than a half dozen
boxes in the year! I generally shoot 6s! What do you guys think is the best cartridge out there? Back in the day it was all eley, then all I could get was remington, these days its all italian brands some of which are fairly dirty! I shot sipe last year and thought they were ok what about RC2's. Also are 6s enough for phesant if you miss with the first shot and he's gone out a bit?

Eley supergame 32g 6 is a great all round shell for everything. Used it last year shooting pheasant, duck, crows, pigeon, magpies, rabbits and it will even knock a fox if he sticks his head up when out within range.

I had 32g 6 for the first, 32g 6 for the second and a 34g5 as the third in my shotty but I never fired the third. your choke will suit different loads better, If I had a o/u id prob use a 34g 6/5 as the second shot.

You may want heavier loads if you are going out specific for duck as a lot of them will be higher than pheasant but 32g 6 works if you are out for pheasant and come across duck.

I had some fiocchi too and didnt like them.

For ducks you need 4's or 5's tops. I found that the 6's wasn't taking them down only knocking some feathers out of them. 6's are good for soft birds like pheasants. Eley are hard bet

I used rc3's in number 8 s 2 years ago for the first of September and dropped 8 mallard with them. There were 2 other lads wit me and they got 7 between them using 4 s and 5 s. So I strongly recommend these shells too

Wouldn't imagine much left of a snipe after a few 5's hit it.

Veloux 7s 32g. Brilliant shell for everything except duck then use 5 36+g for duck and ul drop the highest flying ducks even when flighting them. But you also must select the correct choke for the hunting you are doing
