Dublin Mela is the first ever flagship event for Indians in Ireland, a south asian event that spans over 5 days from August 15th - August 19th 2012, showcasing Bollywood, sports, arts & culture.
This event is organised by UNITAS ISAC, www.unitasisac.ie
The objective of Dublin Mela is to showcase the cultural diversity & promote integration within communities. The Mela (Indian carnival) concept itself is so unique to Dublin, that it has a potential to attract & reach out to atleast 15,000 Asian/Irish people. We are also very hopeful that the event will be graced by honorable dignitaries.
The grand finale for Dublin Mela will be held on 18th August details of which is below as well.

Venue: Corkagh Park – Clondalkin, on N7 , Co. Dublin [ Coming from M50 take the Grange Castle Exit, it is only 5 minutes from M50 junction ]

Mela day is a Free family outing event which will show case Indian art, sport and culture to residents of Ireland. Mela day will include following attractions
The World Stage, where multi-cultural dance & music performances will happen.
·Dance Workshops for kids and adults, we will have dance classes in between the performance were the public can register on the day and experience the classical and Bollywood moves that will re-energies.
·Ethnic bazaar, where various arts & crafts stalls will be from various parts of the world in addition to the Indian shops
·The Taste of India, where unique and authentic Indian regional food will be available along with local Irish food.
·Traditional Indian Sports workshops, the idea behind these would be to take the public through an incredible experience that takes us back in the history of India and also provide great entertainment for the day.
·Gully Cricket, Where east will meet west on Cricket ground. Family oriented cricket match with soft ball will be organized.
·Artists Dressed up as Characters from ancient Sanskrit epics.
·Henna Tattoo Artists – This is a beautiful indigenous art that is highly appreciated in the western world.
·Balloons - brightly colored balloons are an easy way to brighten up the aesthetic of any festival.

In Addition to the above you can also enjoy the following facilities from the park itself. Corkagh Park is located near the Naas road stretching towards Clondalkin. Opened to the public in 1986, it consists of 120 hectares and was formerly part of Corkagh Demense. There are many amenities in the park including the following facilities
