See these guys playing a week or 2 ago in the Hilfiger Store below the Hotpress Offices. Was really impressed with them.

heard these guys on the radio months back. GREAT sound for the 3 of them, but the name is shocking!

I have to agree - there is a serious buzz about this band right now. I first heard them on Jenny Huston's show on 2FM and then I seen some glowing reviews of their album of 'Golden Plec' and 'We are Noise'. So went and got it....hands down one of the best albums by an irish band this year and that includes stuff from Cast of Cheers, Delorentos etc. I can't recommend them enough.

As for the band name, it ain''t great but is it any worse than Two Door Cinema Club?

Yeah there really does seem to be a buzz about them at the moment. I got talking to the band at Indiependence festival at the weekend and they are the nicest guys you could meet. They were saying they have a video coming out soon for a single, its going to animated so thats going to be interesting to see. Its great to see them getting so much attention. Album is fantastic alright. I cant urge people enough to check them out live, they are a different beast live than on the album.

Has anyone heard of a norn iron band called Stereo War Favourites?
I seen them at Sunflowerfest this year and they were mightly impressive. A bit post punk, some what like the excellent Dublin band Bats.

They have a single Comet.Sever.Curio which is a free download.

The Raglans are on their way up.

I'm also liking what I'm hearing from Womens Murder Club

Oddsocks Revival are really good at the minute. Another band with an unfortunate name. Sligo band, in Dublin now I think. They seem to be constantly on tour around the country.

I like Kodaline, a Dublin band after hearing them on Ian Dempsey in the morning a while back. They did really well after Google using an instrumental version of their song "all I want" for their Year in review video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xY_MUB8adEQ
