I was conflicted about it for a while. Not that I think EV's don't deserve a sub-forum. But to keep EV discussions here so as to challenge some people's prejudices and preconceived notions. But at this stage you have to don a metaphorical suit of Armour before trying to talk about an electric car or something related to an electric car.

Open a seperate Forum for the EV followers, we deserve our own space. Any EV thread is immeadiately jumped on by the usual suspects bashing the thread and ideology.

EV is the future, leave the dinasors behind with their ICE's. We demand our own space!

Does it have to be on the motoring section at all? I see EVs and PHEVs as part of the move to renewable energy, and belonging in that forum. That way, you might also stay under the radar of the cyincs of the Top Gear world who would love a bit of footage of a Porche towing a Reva.

Part of the benefit of EVs is that, when charged at night, they can allow more wind power to be accommodate on the grid, knowing that the night production can be utilised.

Where would it attract the most attention and be of most benefit? I just think someone interested in a new car (potentially an EV) would look in the Motors section. A lot of people also get turned off by the environmental message. Best to stick to the basics, it will save you money in the long run!

+ 1, EV's are the only part of the motoring forum that I am interested in and its to easy to miss them when they are included with all the other motor threads.

+1. I've changed my mind since I bought an EV. Time for an EV subforum.

Because it got the requisite number of votes to go to 'Under Consideration'. Funnily enough, a lot of the negative posts seem to have come from you. What have you got against an EV forum? It's not as if you'll be modding it.

An EV forum would be useful for me too as I have one too.
