Oh, now, don't be in a rush. It can take ages to get a new forum going. I have this weird notion though that once there is a cleaning forum it will somehow help actually get my cleaning done. A bit like buying gardening books produces a wonderful garden.

The three minute rule

I suspect you're right.
By the by, I heard a wonderful piece of advice the other day.
If you see something that needs doing, and you know that it will only take three minutes or less to get it done - just do it.
It makes you more efficient, and it applies to everything really, not just cleaning.

I reckon it will take me - oh at least 5 minutes to wash up, slowburner, so that lets me off

I forgot to mention that if a task is likely to take longer than three minutes, it should be written down on a to-do list.

When you think about it, it could be problematical if you had a multitude of three minute tasks.
Mind you, if all your tasks for the day only required three minutes, and you were prepared to work on them for six hours; that would be one hundred and twenty tasks completed.

Doing those sort of sums is displacement activity, akin to doing multicoloured study plans for the Leaving Cert.

Got thinking of this forum this week after an incident with fairy liquid and a dish washer. Hopefully it'll get the go ahead soon
