Period between signing contracts and closing sale - minimum?

Is there a minimum period between signing contracts and closing sale??

Doesn't have to be AFAIK. Dates have to be agreed between vendor and purchaser.

If you're a cash purchaser, I believe that the signing of the contract and completion/handing over of the keys can be done on the same day if the property is "vacant".

If you've got a mortgage, you need the time to get the mortgage transferred from your account to the seller's account which can take a few days at least.

In many cases, the seller may have to move out and remove their furniture out so again there could easily be a week or two. As a previous post said, the completion date is a date agreeable to both parties.

Hoping to sign my contract this week and move in same day.
