terrible aftersales!!!

I would not recommend munster joinery to anyone!!

in my opinion you get a far better aftersales service from the smaller window and door suppliers. Take you time looking around and make sure your getting what you want.

In my house at the moment there is three different threshold heights on my exernal doors, one 18mm(which is ok to allow for floor covering) one 70mm and one 90mm, talk about a trip hazzard!!!!! after a number of people from munster joinery calling to my home to investigate the problem i've failed to get any satisfaction from them. Currently they are not taking or replying to any of my calls with the excuses given that "he's not in today" and "he's in a meeting". I'm at my wits end really, not to mention that we've been delayed in getting into our house, along with the stress of it!!! also our fear is that someone may trip on this hazzard and seriously hurt themselves. when i mentioned this to munster joinery i was asked "is it going to be some sort of party house?" to which i replyed that we have an extended family that we would hope would be visiting us and that if i thought we'd have to live like hermits when we got the doors we might have reconsidered! i mean really like??? not to mention the suggestion that we should slope the floor to take in the difference of the thresholds. that would mean sloping 70mm over 7 meters not to mention that this is along floor to ceiling windows.. surely there is regulations about thresholds!!! All i wanted was to sort this out with them, but they have decided the best option for them is to ignore us.

can someone please help me!

Agreed with all others posting complaints -- avoid Munster Joinery at all costs.

We have doors that leak, windows that can't be opened without a strong shove, a porch that arrived in brown despite clear email records documenting that it was meant to be cream.

Poor goods, poorly fitted.

MJ used to be a fantastic company years ago but they changed their business model and tried to trade on their reputation, reduced their quality and only replaced the sh!t that people complained about. If you have to take a day off to wait for "the man" you're less likely to complain. I have all my doors and windows from MJ, not my choice but the builder appointed them, and I've been lucky and only had one problem door that dropped, the fitter who came tried to blame the floor rising (it's concrete) which made me think that they screw the fitters as well.

Somebody earlier said that nobody told them they needed to reseal their window frames?? Of course you have to reseal timber frames, opinions and local conditions vary, but 2 - 5 years sounds about right

Was talking to a service rep today and she said the solution can no longer be got. She couldnt tell me what they are going to do about it now, just to put it in writing. I would never again deal with this company.
just an update on my situation, got a visit from a member of the service department last week. mj are supposed to be replacing all af my doors, the rep took measurements so here's hoping they follow through. Will keep ye posted.

Please, do not use Muster Joinery, there have terrible terrible customer service, if anything goes wrong they won't stand over their products. Three years on my windows leak, stick, one I can't open because if I do it won't close or lock. the back door lets the rain in and only sometime locks and now has started leaking. An engineer call out is 70 euros plus parts and when I called to complain and left messages they never phoned back. When I did get to speak to someone she was of little help and couldn't give a damn basically, I asked to speak to the manager who was on a call. I asked for him to call back. he didn't. I got a local man to fix them all and he charged me twenty euros. He said they weren't installed properly, screws missing and likes, just a messy job. I spent over 20,000 and I so regret it. Also, on a bigger issue the design I asked for and which was agreed was not what was delivered but it had all been such a nightmare that I just accepted it because I was so tired of them and just wanted to get into my house. I'm posting this so I can save other people from going through what I did.

I used MJ 2 years ago when I changed my back door and put in a new French door in my Kitchen (in place of my old Kitchen window). I found it next to impossible to place my order, for some reason the Rep wouldn't take my calls and I could only order through him. After a lot of phonecalls, I eventually put my order in. I have to say, I can't complain about the doors. They arrived the day they were due to arrive and as I was getting other work done at the time, I got my own man to fit them. I had a faulty lock, which they came back to fix instantly and they changed the handles on the windows to chrome when I asked without hesitation. I can't remember what the doors were called but they weren't their cheapest one, the next one up. While most people have had problems, sometimes it is just down to bad luck. I did ring a few other companies at the time while I was waiting for MJ's rep to get back to me and not one of them either returned my call or came to look at my job to quote. I believe in credit where credit is due, and in this instance, I can't fault them other than the frustration in trying to place my initial order.
