Cross the liffey and swing left. There is a couple of cafes and restaurants. You'll deffo get a nice breakfast over there.

I've walked past this place and it looks decent enough. Haven't been in to sample the grub yet though. http://www.junoscafe.com/

It's just across the river on Parkgate St.

Have heard good reports about this place

Is it the type of place one could get lunch and then spend some time afterwards reading, drinking tea, getting some work done on laptop etc etc without being put under pressure to leave

That's exactly the type of place it is: went their for dinner a few months ago and was really impressed with the quality of the food. Nice staff too. It only opens at 830am M-F according to their site. Not the cheapest though.

Here's the breakfast menu from the Aisling (open from 645).

At €9.95 for a full Irish, I'd expect tea/coffee to be included. It looks like it's not!

8.30am is very late for a premises doing breakfast to open. Should be 7am at least.

My train was early enough , so I treated my self the Ashling Hotel

12 euro for buffet breakfast , which seems expensive until you see the cafe was 9 euro just for the fry

I got fry , tea inc , and as many pasteries / juice etc.

Had a great feed , and some pasteries fell into my bag for the tea on the train

Thanks everyone for the suggestions/help

cheap B+B/hotel near Heuston

Anyone know of any b&b or hotel near Heuston station. I don't want to stay in a hostel or equivalent. I don't want to spend more than €50 if possible, as it's after a day in hospital so it's not a social/ relaxing visit. I'd love to find a nice clean comfortable b+b but don't know the area well enough. Thanks
