Kerry or Irish?

Which comes first?

Not sure if there are ways of telling really. But think I am more proud of my county than my country. When abroad, if asked where I'm from I will always say Kerry, and if it's clear that means nothing to the person asking, I will say in the sw of Ireland.

when i'm abroad i would say im Irish,
when i'm up the country i would say that i'm from Killarney,
i always used to say that i was from Kerry until some idiots on a bus in Dublin once upon a time thought it was great crack to try and imitate the kerryman, i was quite hot headed back then so it nearly ended badly
needless to say that im a very proud Kerry man
