Lip sync issue

Here's hoping that someone here can help.

Recently installed a Samsung BluRay drive to my machine but I am having a lip sync issue now.

It has a Samsung customised version of Power DVD 9 as the software.

I am running video through HDMI, from ATI 6870, and audio through Optical cable, from the motherboard.

that would be to do with the encoding of the disk, is it everything doing it?

This is pretty common even in standalone players with home theater systems, there can regularly be a discrepancy of a few milliseconds between audio and video. As to where the offset options are available on a PC, I don't really know. Whatever you are feeding optical output to probably contains the offset values.

There is also the possibility it's caused not by signal latency but by a CPU bottleneck but I'd say its more likely an optical concern.

You can also try playback through VLC media player and this software does contain offset values under Tools > track Sync

It's abit messy trying to get VLC to play an actualy disc. It doesn't support the menus and won't without buying a License from Sony as far as i know.

Use this to put the bluray on your HDD and then use VLC.
