Its interesting to see the paths peoples sexual lives take over time, from what I can see things only improve in most aspects as people get older. Nice to see that few people have real regrets about how they live their lives.
I'm sorry to read Neuro-Praxis closed her account. Hopefully she'll come back when some time has passed. If she so wishes, of course.

I completely agree with you regarding the 'getting older' aspect. I know I've changed immeasurably over the years, for the better.

Firstly its a shame that Neuro has closed her account. I don't agree with her on this topic, but some of the posts directed towards her were absolutely shocking, this is meant to be a discussion board, people have different opinions.

Personally (I'm male), I don't think ONS are inherently unsafe, as has been said already, there are much riskier things you could do in life. Some people like them, some people hate them, thats life.

I was sexually assaulted twice as an adult. Both times by someone I knew. In neither situation had anything of a sexual nature happened in the lead up to the attacks. I had been asleep in another room only to wake up once with the guy lying on top of me, one hand up my top and the other down my pyjama bottoms. Was pretty much the same scenario with the second assault. In both instances I had been sleeping in a separate bedroom, in both instances I was in a relationship that both parties knew about, there had never been any flirting, nothing.

In terms of ONS, I've had three with complete strangers who I've met out, had the banter with and the logical step seemed to be to take our attraction to the bedroom. I have always brought them home to my house and each experience has been great fun, passionate and pretty much exactly what the doctor ordered. I don't regret them in the slightest. I needed a physics release, there was chemistry and the end result was worth it.

I've had flings with people I know, FWB situations, again they sufficed at the time. Oddly enough I never brought them home to my house, mainly because I wanted to be able to get up and leave when I wanted to, without having to get rid of them in my house.

I'm in a relationship now, but I don't regret any of my sexual adventures. They fulfilled my desire and physical needs at that specific time of my life, I was incapable of wanting anything more emotionally and had no interest in emotional investment.

is a quick shag with some man who they might not even remember really worth it

also and im really sorry if i insult anyone with this next comment but its just my opinion it doesn't mean that im right and im not trolling or anything but if a man wants a shag he can call up a hooker pay her get the leg over with one night stands you buy her a drink and get the leg over i dont see a difference in the two women to be honest

i never had one night stands and i never would even though im in a happy relationship i couldn't lower my self and really wouldn't see the point in it

A girl having a one night stand (in the vast majority of cases) is doing it because she wants to, there's very few prostitutes for which you could say the same.

Wow. If you can't see the difference between a prostitute and a woman who is sleeping with a man because she wants to, well, I don't even know where to start. I'm actually astonished at your comment.

I'm in my 13th year of marriage and two kids later after taking home a guy home the first night we met...really worth it? Feckin right it was.

I never get the comparison with prostitution - a prostitute isn't choosing to have sex with that man because she wants to have sex with him. She's having sex with him because he's paid her whatever monitory value she's placed on allowing him to use her body. The analogy only works if you think women only have sex to service men.

The fact your comments are so obviously offensive that you feel obliged to point out that you aren't trolling speaks volumes about how irrational they actually are...even in your own head.

pay a hooker get a shag

buy a drink for a girl get a shag

as some women regret the one night stands the next morning they use the excuse ohh to much to drink blah blah blah

not all hookers are forced into the sex industry and you do get some that like it for the money

both putting them selfs in bad situations

i still see it as paying for sex

as i said doesn't mean i am right it's just the way i feel

im glad you got a great situation from your experience but seriously how many times does that actually happen

most people only want one night stands because they dont want a relationship

if she's shagged you within the first few hours then how many other men has she done

Boyfriends buy girlfriends flowers, they get sex.
Boyfriends but girlfriends jewellery, they get sex.

It would probably be cheaper to just hire prostitutes than to date, to be honest.

How dare you suggest that women who go home with someone are "looking" for something awful to happen. Clearly you live an extremely sheltered life and the bitterness and vile attitude displayed in your posts echo that.

Equating a ONS to prostitution? Really?

there was a reason that we we're thought not to speak and take stuff off strangers when we are kids

obviously you would know your partner more than a few hours so i wouldn't class that as the same

i think its vile and digusting what happens to these poor girls and the low lifes that do it should be shot when they are in these situations

but come on now you cant trust someone you have just met to go home and get their leg over ya

honest question if you just met someone and they asked you for a lend of your car would you give it to them hell NO

so when risk your life and health and go home with them

STDS being an obvious one, accidents do happen..These are the types of STDS you can get and oh the joy they bring(note sarcasm)..

Hepititus - attacking the liver(which processes nutrients) and immune system, causing inflammmation of the liver

HIV - holistic attack of the immune system, when you get colds or flu you can die a long painful drawn out death when you get full blown AIDS..

HCV - fatigue jaundice joint pains headaches rashes, irritations, abdominal discomfort, fluid retention, depression, difficulties in concentration, and sleep disturbance..

genital warts or anal warts

syphillis - with quite painful blistering and break outs

Chancroid (Haemophilus ducreyi)

Chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis)

Granuloma inguinale or (Klebsiella granulomatis)

Gonorrhea (Neisseria gonorrhoeae), colloquially known as "the clap"

CMV (Human Cytomegalovirus)—saliva, venereal fluids, blood, organ transplant, urine, pregnancy, childbirth, breast milk

Viral hepatitis (Hepatitis B virus)—saliva, venereal fluids.
(Note: Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E are transmitted via the fecal-oral route; Hepatitis C is rarely sexually transmittable,[2] and the route of transmission of Hepatitis D (only if infected with B) is uncertain, but may include sexual transmission.[

Herpes simplex (Herpes simplex virus 1, 2) skin and mucosal, transmissible with or without visible blisters
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)—venereal fluids, semen, breast milk, blood
HPV (Human Papillomavirus)—skin and mucosal contact. 'High risk' types of HPV cause almost all cervical cancers, as well as some anal, penile, and vulvar cancer. Some other types of HPV cause genital warts

Molluscum contagiosum (molluscum contagiosum virus MCV)—close contact

Crab louse, colloquially known as "crabs" or "pubic lice" (Pthirus pubis)

But like other posters here have noted, by the same token, if your argument is a good enough reason not to practice ONS, it's also a good enough reason to lock ourselves up in our houses and have zero social lives.. At some point, you gotta have trust in people. That's not to say that some people won't misjudge and suffer as a result, but the odds of that ever happening are so low (because most people are NOT sociopaths). At any rate, those women were wrong to judge him as incapable of harming them; someone else might have avoided getting killed by him, by being smarter when judging his character. I usually am hesitant to trust extremely outgoing and over-confident types. I am smart enough not to be fooled by some compliments. In fact, the guy I am planning on having a ONS with tonight is more of the shy , not extremely confident type; not at all pushy; left the ball in my court last night, even though he DID want to have a ONS..
While I don't think that there is anything inherently wrong with a ONS and I don't think all men are rapists and murderers, I have to say that I'm uncomfortable with the parts of your post that I've put in bold. It makes it sound as if you think that people who get attacked must have been somehow stupid, and people like you who are 'smart' don't get attacked - isn't this a type of victim blaming? Maybe you didn't mean it this way at all, but if I was unfortunate enough to have been assaulted I wouldn't appreciate someone saying that it wouldn't have happened if I had been 'smarter'

If it's a quick shag, then they're doing it wrong really

/on-topic
If a grown, mature and smart person, who is aware of contraception wants to have a one night stand, then let them. It doesn't affect anyone but the people doing it.

Sex is one of the best forms of relief in the world, and for many people (including myself in the past) can be a fantastic way of relieving stress, and even increasing self confidence.
