Smoothies?

My usual routine is getting up and going to work at half 5, eating an apple at 10am and a banana at 11 (I know it's a woeful habit ) and then going home ravenous and eating all sorts of sh1te for the rest of the day I know that this is because I've been starving myself all morning. I really don't have the time to go eating a proper breakfast so I was thinking I could make a big batch of smoothie the night before and tip away at it through the morning until lunchtime, where hopefully I'll be less hungry and be able to eat healthily for the rest of the day Is this a good idea? Smoothie-wise I was thinking something like banana, orange juice, low fat milk and a good fistful of bran flakes would do the trick

Banana, handful of oats and a scoop of whey protein blended with milk or water is what I have for brekkie. Takes no length to make, has everything ya need and sets ya up for the day.

I never used to eat breakfast but downing a shake is handy and easy and I feel a hell of a lot better too when I do get a breakfast into me.

I can't face food first thing in the morning, but knock back a protein shake made with water no problem. You should try to eat more substantial lunches during the day to prevent over-eating at night.

The smoothie Smeg just suggested would be ideal. It would keep you going much longer. Even if you cant blend all that, a protein shake with milk instead of water will keep you full for most of the morning.

Smoothies are great but made the night before, you lose a lot of nutritional value through oxidization.

Also, a smoothie full of fruit is sugar overload, try to add a stick of celery or a handful of spinach. You can't really taste it disguised by Fruit.

Should I avoid yogurt in my smoothies?

Currently for breakfast I make a smoothie consisting of half a Glenisk low fat greek yogurt tub, a banana, some frozen berries of some sort and a bit of orange juice.
Should I avoid the yogurt and swap it for something else? I'll look into adding some greens to it and some oats as suggested above.

Too much dairy isn't good for us. If its not organic, it has antibiotics and hormones in it. Rice milk of soya milk would be a better option. Dairy is not all its cracked up to be. (I work in the Nutrition field).

Every morning I have a smoothie with the following:
almond milk
fruit (I vary this to make it taste different every day)
ground flax seeds, almonds, or nuts

Sometimes I add yogurt to my smoothie (for the protein) and sometimes I eat it separately. You could also add a protein mix to your smoothie.

I really love smoothies because they satisfy my sweet tooth, fill me up, and give me brain energy and body energy to get going in the morning.

(Edit: adding a date to your smoothie will make it even sweeter and I love doing that as well!)
