I hated fursty ferret, it tasted of nothing with nothing on the end, no noticeable hops and besides a very basic "sweetness" nothing else at all.

Won't be rushing out to try any other badger beers any time soon.

That said, was in tesco picking up a few bits for the dinner and they were fulled stocked up today so picked up 4 Goose Island IPA, was going to buy 5 Clothworthy Dobbin aswell bu restrained myself and I don't think I have the will power to not drink the lot in one evening!

Warsteiner is probably my favourite subtle session beer, with Spaten a close second.

If you are fussy about beer I don't know why you would put Stella as the best beer ever. It's an alright lager but nothing major in the taste department.

I was having O'Haras Pale Ale for the first time. Very nice, I love the bitter hoppy taste, although didn't have the sweetness to balance it as say SN IPA or Torpedo. Got some Polish friends to try it out too, may have some new converts. Also had Dark Arts in bottle, not as nice as from the tap for me, was a bit flat, I liked caramel taste but was left wanting a more coffee/chocolate from it. (But I do get it's a Porter rather than a Stout) But it still bet the offerings on tap.

Tried my first Chilli Stout over the weekend. Mikkeller Texas Ranger. Strange sensation, but really really nice.

I gather that this one in particular is highly regarded so it'd be interesting to see what some others taste like. Any recommendations?

Also tried Magic Hat #9 over the last couple of weeks, went all American and picked up a six pack from the offy. Not overly impressed tbh. It's not a bad tipple but the blurb on the bottle says it all for me, "Not Quite Pale Ale" and that was my overriding impression. Just not quite there.

I have been putting off trying the Texas Ranger, a spicy beer, I dunno man... I will try it at some stage though.

Yeah #9 was a let down for a magic hat beer, not too fond of it myself.

Going to watch the match now in a bit and have two Nøgne Ø Imperial Stouts and a Goose Island Matilda waiting for me.

I'm having an Ireland v Italy drinking session. I have 3 Galway Hookers and 3 Brewfists. At least Ireland will win at that.

Tell me what you think of the Brewfists, from the few I have had they are pretty muck.

It's really, really good. The chilli is quite subtle.

I was very underwhelmed by that too.

Going for something different for the match too. Having a Brouwerij Boon - Geuze Mariage Parfait. Smells fantastic, although the initial taste is a bit.....eh. Hopefully it settles as it breathes a little, like the Cantillon Gueuze Lambic that I tried a while back did.

I thought Fear Chocolate Stout was pretty crap. I'm having Burocracy IPA, which I'm finding to be actually very nice. Reminds me of Punk IPA

Actually much prefer it from a bottle.

Actually did settle down a bit, but between the 2 that I tried, I think the Cantillon just edged it for me.

Jury is still out on Gueuze's though. Drinkable, and something different, but I doubt they'll ever be a "go to" beer for me.

.
I really, really, really did not like the Texar Ranger, Salt House had it for a while about 2 months ago so bought one to try it and all I could taste was the chipotle and some burnt wood.

Just thought Id throw in my thoughts

Jale - Had it ages ago, wasn't impressed but wasn't disappointed, I remember that I thought more of it then some English ESBs Ive tasted.
24k Golden Ale - Had this and thought of German hops straight away, apperently I was right, found it enjoyable, nothing special but very drinkable.
The Spaceman and Burocracy I have trouble remembering differences between (it was a few days ago) but I found both to be good solid IPAs, with the Burocracy being more to my taste.
Fear is the disappointment of the lot, apperently brewed with cocoa and lactose I was expecting a sweeter more complex richer beer then it was. Poured with no head despite best efforts, it was a small, sweet thin stout.

For close to €4 (from offo) a go for 330mls is far to pricey, but I didn't think there was anyting wrong with the beer in the bottle. I went into tasting these beers expecting muck but found for the most part they were decent but maybe a little subtle or 'drinkable'.

IMO if you want to taste muck venture to a Shipyard Export or IPA, they've seemingly popped up in most craft beer offos/pubs/supermarkets and they are awful.
