Not sure if the title is self explanatory or not but just wanted to know, what are people's opinions on men taking this up?
It seems to be an excersize I'd be interested in trying.
Yet it seems to come with such a feminine stereotype, if that makes any sense?
Are the reason males don't take it up is because it could destroy their masculine identity? Is that it? Because I'm interested in taking it up but do many men do it?
Not sure I want to be the only man in a burlesque class It might sound abit stupid but even though I generally do tend to hang out with women more than lads, I'm not sure I'd feel as comfortable being the only man in a class of said excersize.

Lots of men do burlesque acts. However, if you are just looking for an exercise routine then regular dance classes would give you a better workout. However having men turn up to a burlesque class would not raise eyebrows and you would be made feel very welcome. Talk to the class teachers, giv e 'em a call.

Men on stage in burlesque have to work harder to keep the audience attention then women do (please excuse the huge generalisation). Mens acts tend to have a much stronger comedic aspect to them.

There are many notable boylesque acts here in Ireland. The Big Spender Boys, Fabio Ego DeFlato to name but a few. On the international stage there are entire shows given over to boylesques featuring everything from strippers to drag acts to comedy to circus to gogo dancers to gorelesque/grotesque to surreal insanity.
