this is a brilliant thread , nice one Bullets.
would it be of benefit at all to have the location of the manufacturers on the list made above by Inari? for example TM = Japan etc.. just an idea
It is a brilliant post though, was always confused by the whole KWA thing, but that cleared it up thanks Kev.

You can debate about KWA and KSC being the same company but essentially they are not. KSC used to do the R&D side of things and KWA did the manufacturing in TAIWAN.

KSC is a japanese based company (completely independent to KWA, it was not set up by KWA just for japan) focused mainly on the japanese airsoft market and like many airsoft companies they went in to business together years ago with each other, this does not make them the same.

There is differences between KSC and KWA pistols and smgs, these fall mainly down to airsoft laws (KSC:Japan). KSC's have plastic slides, trade's etc, and are meant to run on a different gas. Apparently KSC's have weaker parts compared to there KWA counter parts. A good example to this is the KSC MP7 and the KWA MP7. KWA has reinforced many parts on the MP7.

If you look up KSC's pistols they actually have plenty of ones available that have nothing to do with KWA nor even present on the KWA website.

Its complicated to explain but they are essentially two companies working together and that is as far as it goes. One didn't buy out the other it just a contractual agreement really.

Anyway just said Id add to it a bit more in depth to the KWA/KSC malark.

I have to apologise on this - I came in and said "KSC & KWA are the same company" which they're not. What I was implying is that they are almost synonyms for each other.

KSC are a Japanese manufacturer, and KWA are their OEM for many things. KSC manufacturer Pistols and GBBR's under strict Japanese laws, but also make guns for export (where they are allowed to have metal slides etc). KWA were originally used as R&D and OEM purposes, and they have ever since operated from a very symbiotic relationship. Both make products the other do not, but this is just typical of an OEM relationship.

KWA are a Taiwanese company, that also make AEG's. KSC do not because they are Japanese and TM own the patent for the AEG in Japan (who knows why they didn't put in a world-wide patent). There are some differences in the products, as there always are in an OEM relationship (Socom Gear and WE for example) - but that doesn't change what it is.

My apologies for adding to the confusion due to poor choice in words

I heard once that 3PX4 guns (specifically their PX4) are manufactured by KJ works. I don't know whether it is true or not. Does anyone here know about 3PX4?

The manufacturer is HK3P. They are the OEM for most of WE's new stuff (Glockw, XDM).

All WE rifles as well are made in china. Only development is Taiwan and then its just made in china and stamped made in taiwan.

Its just far far cheaper to make in china. Yet its illegal to make airsoft in china with the death penalty if caught making them.

Golden Eagle make the rifles for JG and then are sold as JG because Golden Eagle had a bad reputation but Jing Gong didn't.

Jing Gong has a factory itself making only M4 rifles.

maybe golden eagle is a re-brand of JG it isn't unheard of to replace internal parts when re-branding but to replace nearly a whole gear box? Also AFAIK aeg's can be manufactured for export in china like KSC manufacturing metal replicas in Japan for export
